The protective role of Gallic acid in Cisplatin nephrotoxicity

Background: Nephrotoxicity is considered one of the most serious and dose-limiting factors for restricting clinical use Cisplatin anticancer efficacy. Gallic acid a non-toxic substance that has wide range therapeutic roles with high antioxidant activity. So, present study aims to investigate concurrent protective action against inflammatory oxidative damage caused by in rat kidneys. Material methods: Thirty-two male albino rats were classified into four groups, eight per each as follows: Group 1 (Normal Control group): without treatment. 2 (Gallic healthy given acid. 3 (Cisplatin injected cisplatin. 4 + Cisplatin) treated group. Kidney functions, Paraoxonase-1, cytokines such Tumor Necrosis Factor ?, respectively determined. Results: was induced kidney significance (P <0.001) regarding function tests group demonstrated broad prevention and/or management compared cisplatin Conclusion: role dysfunction renal therapy.
